Organic
Flying Hedgehag

A Flying-type variant of the Hedgehag.

-Monster Fibula report

Appearance

The Flying Hedgehag is a small, four-legged creature with dark grey skin and a back covered in brown spines. They are also equipped with propellers on their back, giving them the ability to fly.

Combat

Before attacking, it jumps into the air and activates its propeller, becoming unreachable. When it gets over the player or enough time has passed, it drops into the ground and rolls towards them. This attack can be countered, just like with all other Hedgehags. If the Flying Hedgehag lights itself on fire while flying, it will release an explosion when it drops and cause multiple explosions around itself in a Y pattern. This is telegraphed by various non-damaging fireballs.

During The Hedgelord boss fight, Flying Hedgehags don't use those attacks and, instead, have cannons that allow them to shoot a Wave bomb that bounces thrice and leaves a springboard, or a Heat bomb that explodes after reaching the player or travelling a certain distance. There will also be some of them that don't have cannons and keep The Hedgelord afloat, which can be defeated by throwing Balls at them after using a springboard.

Strategies

You can lure them into attacking if you dash under them, however, this can be a risky move if you don’t do it correctly. The experience you’ve earned fighting Hedgehags makes countering them a more feasible option, unless you didn’t know you could do that. At their core, they are just normal Hedgehags, so the one big strategy there is against them is lowering their health to 0, which can be even easier thanks to their weakness to Cold and Shock.

Its worth mentioning that defeating the cannon Flying Hedgehags during The Hedgelord boss fight will cause a softlock.
